A leader on the pitch, Ryan Giggs now has the task of managing his own team mates
It is time to concentrate on playing football for Manchester United having parted way with David Moyes, just nine months into the job. In a week of media hounds knocking on the door of Old Trafford for interviews, pictures and stories of recent events, it is time for the red devils to get back to basics and see out what has been a horror campaign. The first call of action the United board have jumped to is bring back ex-players from the golden generation, these have included; Nicky Butt, Paul Scholes and the retained services of Phil Neville who worked under David Moyes. But it is Ryan Giggs who is calling the shots, the Welshman who has been at the club for over 26 years gets a crack at life as a Manchester United manager, a few year’s premature than what anyone would have envisaged.
“I’ve got to say it’s the proudest moment of my life. I’ve supported Manchester United all my life, it’s been the biggest part of my life since I was 14 when I signed schoolboy forms. I’m proud, happy, a little bit nervous but just like i am as a player I can’t wait for the game on Saturday.” Ryan Giggs
United currently lay in 7th place, six points behind sixth place Tottenham but with a game in hand. They face the other side in the league without a permananet manager in the form of Norwich City. The Canaries have lost their last four Premier League matches and sit just two points above the relegation zone. It is a must three points for step-in manager Micky Adams, as they face Chelsea and Arsenal after.
