Potential Gem Goalkeepers for the 16/17 Season
Written by @TheSarjeant
Tom Heaton £4.5m — Burnley
Burnley regained their Premier League status after winning the 15/16 Championship, keeping 20 clean sheets in the process. The last time Burnley were in the Premier League (14/15), Tom Heaton acquired 150 points. That points total would have seen him be the third best goalkeeper last season – just 9 points behind Petr Cech who gained the most.
The reason for Tom Heaton being such a good source of points is down to the amount of saves he makes – he averaged 3.1 saves per game last season and 3.3 the year before.
Ben Foster £4.5m — West Bromwich Albion
Tony Pulis, the West Brom boss, is well known for his organised teams and keeping clean sheets. When the Welshman was in charge at Stoke, they shut out the opposition in 29.5% of their league games.
He had an even better record when he took over at Crystal Palace, seeing his side keep a clean sheet in 38.5% of their Premier League games. Pulis’ West Brom has also been performing well defensively, conceding no goals in 37.5% of their league matches. Ben Foster offers a safe and secure route of clean sheets into your Fantasy team for just £4.5m.
