Both Giroud and Ozil’s form has dipped of late with neither able to make an impact in recent weeksWest Ham remain just one point above the drop zone having not won in their last four matches in the league. The fact that the Hammers have reached the semi-final of the League Cup might be a welcome distraction to fans but they know survival is the number one priority. With huge games against West Brom and Fulham coming up, any positive result in this game could be considered a bonus.
“It doesn’t matter if we’re in the bottom three or not – it’s 14 points from 17 games and that’s fewer points than games played. That’s got to be caught up as soon as possible and that’s a massive task that will take six, seven or eight games.”

Arsenal meanwhile are looking to regain their place at the top of the table. Three matches without a win means the Gunners were not top of the table at Christmas, something that looked unlikely three weeks ago. A frustrating 0-0 draw against Chelsea on Monday combined with defeats against Manchester City and Napoli in the Champions League has left Gunners fans wondering whether they have peaked too soon. Arsene Wenger will no doubt be confident his side can get back on track in a London derby they have a very good record in.
