This season we are happy to work with the 92 Plus 1 Challenge.

FantasyYIRMA.com will make a personal donation to the cause from our own pockets and would love for you to read the article below and get following the guys on twitter on @92Plus1

Heroes support Heroes as football unites

Former UEFA Cup winning, F.A. Cup winning and International footballers along with big names in the football world are helping a group football supporters attempt a unique “fans first” of visiting all 92 football clubs in top flight football sandwiched between the two forthcoming England Internationals as Roy Hodgson’s men take on Montenegro and Poland in the back to back Wembley fixtures next week.

Simon Cox, Darren Young, Mark Burns and Mike Peters will be leaving Wembley Stadium after England’s game against Montenegro next Friday as they take on the immense challenge over a 92 hour period to raise money for Help for Heroes, their nominated charity.

Simon Cox, 92 Plus 1 challenge founder, said: “We cannot thank those who have stepped forward enough to help us. We have received support from some of the top people in the game as the challenge captures imagination from football fans across 60 different countries.

“We set out in June with the vision of asking football to get behind the challenge and the team are delighted to be joined by some of their heroes in the football world as we look to take on the challenge.

“We will be facing the challenge of navigating the UK’s road network on the 2,600 mile journey and see this as a fantastic way for football to show their support for our nominated charity, Help for Heroes.

“Members of our team have served in the forces for over 30 years and know how much the funds raised for this charity will help those who have served to protect us. From a football fans view, it’s an absolute honour to be involved in this challenge and we are asking football fans across the globe to follow our progress and contribute to our cause. I believe we can make an immense difference to what we are doing in one big push over 92 hours and I am inviting people to get involved.

The team will be taking on the challenge in a heavily branded vehicle, supplied by Marshals of Milton Keynes and are due to arrive back at Wembley at 6pm on Tuesday 15th October in time for the game against Poland.

They will be joined on parts of the challenge by former professional footballers Micky Hazard (former Spurs, Chelsea and Swindon Town legend), Daryl Sutch (former Norwich City defender), Trevor Benjamin (former Leicester City and Jamaican International), Barry Hayles (former Fulham and Jamaican International), Shaun Teale (former Aston Villa and Tranmere defender), Paul Gibbs (former Brentford, Colchester, Plymouth and Torquay defender) and Wayne Fereday (former QPR, Newcastle and Cardiff City winger).

You can follow the progress of the team on Twitter by following @92plus1 or on Facebook by visiting www.facebook.com/92plus1. The team’s website is http://www.92plus1.co.uk when donations can be made.
