If Liverpool can beat Sunderland at Anfield they will be just one point behind Chelsea
By Alex Mackenzie-Grieve.
Luis Suarez is two goals away from being the first Liverpool player since Ian Rush in 1986-87 to score 30 goals in the Premier League in one season
You would understand if the likes of Wes Brown, John O’Shea and Phil Bardsley aren’t looking forward to their trip to Anfield much. They are playing a side that has scored 82 goals in 30 games and come into the game having scored six away from home on Saturday. Suarez and Sturridge have a combined total of 47 goals in the league this season and have been far and away the deadliest combination in English football this season. Sunderland, on the other hand, has been in stark contrast to their opponents, failing to win their last four league matches. The Black Cats are three points from safety but have three games in hand on their relegation rivals. A 2-0 defeat against Norwich on Saturday was one of their poorest performances of the season. If they don’t improve, they could be on the wrong end of an onslaught.
