West Ham United Vs Manchester City
City must be getting fed up with these early games. Their fans can only hope their European version doesn’t turn up in London otherwise they will be beaten. The Hammers are flying at the moment. They are scoring well and doing well at the back. All since the injury to Andy Carroll they have been forced to change their style of play and it’s been working out. That change of style means they will attack City and therein lies the problem. The Hammers will have to open up and as such I fell that City just have too much for them. A chance for City to put their Moscow problems to bed and I think they will take it. Away win.
Liverpool Vs Hull City
I was disappointed with Liverpool mid-week. Never mind players being tired and others swapping shirts the rest did very little for the cause. They had a shot that hit the post. In ninety minutes it’s hardly good enough for a team with this pedigree. Liverpool were dismal. True Madrid are the Real deal but let’s be fair Liverpool looked to be going through the motions. There was hardly too many working that hard for a result. Sterling and Coutinho apart who did anything else for Liverpool? It was awful to watch. Liverpool would have hoped for an easy game this weekend and this is not one of them. Hull will fight for every ball and every corner and every free kick. They should send a video to Balotelli. At 24 unless he gets his finger out, his career could go down the drain. Now away from all that I expect a reaction from Liverpool and I do think they will have too much for Hull. Hull work very hard but I think Liverpool will be too strong. Home win.
Southampton Vs Stoke City
Now here is a game. Last week the Saints put eight past Sunderland. They won’t do that this week as Stoke will never throw in the towel. They scraped past Swansea last week and the repercussions of that are still coming. Moses went down as if he was parting the Red Sea. He cheated and conned the referee. Dress it up whatever you like that’s what he did. I do hope and I am convinced it will come to bite him later in the season. I was disappointed in him and his manager Mark Hughes. Hughes should have come out and condemned it. Stoke are very good defensively. They have conceded just nine goals. That ‘s the best apart from the top three. Then again Southampton are one of the top three. In fact there’s is the best record. They have conceded just 5 goals. Southampton and in particular Steve Davis are in great form. Home win.
Sunderland Vs Arsenal
Arsenal let me down for the treble last week and according to some other punters it was the same for them. Like Spurs you would never bet your house on the Gunners. They were blessed mid-week to get their European win in Anderlecht. Sunderland will still be reeling from that 8-0 demolition at Southampton. In many ways perhaps it was better to lose by that much it means that manager Gus Poyet will have been able to go to town this week on his troops. As such I fancy Sunderland to have a reaction in front of their home fans. The Sunderland players were gutted by that effort last week and will respond. Arsenal could suffer a little from their European travels. Draw.
West Bromich Albion Vs Crystal Palace
I tipped the draw on Monday between them and United and I was almost wrong.. West Brom should have taken all three points. Wesdt Brom are having a decent season an d Palace have gone off the boil in recent weeks. Neil Warnock lost the head a bit after last week and his attack on the referee was unacceptable. Hardly the example to give to your players. I have never rated him as a manager but he has done well at Palace apart from the last couple of games. Two defeats in a row is not a crisis but it could easily be three. In fact I think it will be. Home win.
Swansea City Vs Leicester City
I feel sorry for Swansea and their manager. A player from the other side cons the referee and cheats his way to a penalty. The Swansea manager Gary Monk gives his opinion and now he’s in the dock with the FA. Meanwhile the culprit from last week is supported by his team mates and he faces no sanction. That is justice “arse about face” if you ask me. Swansea have now gone five games without a win after a great start to the season and it won’t be easy against Leicester. They will play to the final whistle but I think we will see a reaction in the Swansea dressing room and I’m going for a home win here..
Burnley Vs Everton
I have changed my mind so often about this fixture. I had hoped that Burnley would make a name for themselves in the Premiership but so far they failed to do that. They are still looking for their first win of the season and it’s hard to see them getting it here. Part of me says they could be good enough for a draw and another part tells me that Everton are well placed to beat them. Everton drew in Lille mid-week and beat Villa last week. For me this is the hardest fixture of all to predict this week but I’m going for an away win. Not with any great confidence all the same.
Tottenham Hotspur Vs Newcastle United
Tipped Newcastle to win last week and they did just that. One win and two draws in their last two games suggests a team who are improving but I can’t see them winning this one. Spurs are so undependable on the other hand. I have tipped them several times this season only to be let down. They attacked Man City last week and looked good for long periods of the game. I f they repeat that in this fixture I think they will have too much for Newcastle. Home win.
Manchester United Vs Chelsea
This is the Premiership version of the El Classico in name anyway. After that forget about it. United are a poor side. Only for David de Gea last week they would have been beaten at West Brom. They do have some superb players going forward but their defence is awful. All the Utd fans will be hoping this is the day they can turn round their fortunes but I am not convinced. United will have a go at Chelsea but Chelsea are more than good on the counter attack. Having said that they could be struggling up front because on injuries. Despite that I still fancy Chelsea to be too good. They have been the most impressive side in the Premiership this season and I fancy them in this one.
Q.P.R. Vs Aston Villa
After a bright start Villa have gone off the boil. Four defeats in a row says it all. Last week QPR looked good at times against Liverpool and could have easily gotten something from the game. They looked a bit more solid at the back. QPR need points and when you consider the fact they face Chelsea and Man City after this you can see just how vital a game this is. Villa will be out to stop the rot as will QPR so we can expect a cagey enough affair. I think it finish in a stalemate as a result. Neither side will really want to lose this one. Villa could be the bet but I think QPR will react to all the prblems on and off the park. A draw for me.
