Southampton are going through a bad patch. By that I mean defeats to Chelsea and City. The two best sides in the Premiership. The clash with United will be interesting. There is no love lost between the coaches. They worked together at Barcelona but then fell out. Van Gaal in his autobiography later described Koeman as “weak”. He says they will shake hands of course after the game. A hug I think is out of the question.
Southampton have only suffered one defeat at home and United are on a good run unbeaten in their last four. They still tend to leak goals. Only four clean sheets all season and only one win away from home.
United are in fourth place and the chances are they will welcome back Wayne Rooney so that will be a massive boost.
A lot has been said that Southampton can’t beat the “big ” teams. Who knows how that will pan out before the end of the season.
I think Southampton will want to get back on track and I think they will do just that with a draw.
It should be a very interesting game. Watch out for the hand shake at the end.
Draw.
