Suspension Could “Costa” Chelsea
The showpiece game in the Premiership this weekend is the clash of league leaders Chelsea and second placed Manchester City. Diego Costa will miss the game after being handed a three match suspension by the FA for a stamping incident in the League game with Liverpool. It was the correct decision and no marks for Jose Mourinho for defending his player. Costas always plays at the limit and he is a fantastic player. 17 goals in 19 games is proof of that but in this instance he did over step the mark. The loss of Costa is a big blow to Chelsea no matter what others may say.
If Fabregas is missing as well then things just might be as smooth for Chelsea as they would have hoped. City don’t have the best of records against Chelsea. Chelsea are unbeaten in their last three meetings and if Chelsea are missing players then so too City. Yaya Toure is a massive loss in such a big game and I think that City will miss him in the middle of the park. As a result then the none and only Frank Lampard could start. The former Chelsea legend normally comes off the bench but Pelligrinni could be tempted to use him from the start. An experienced head and all that. City will need big games from the likes of Aguero and Kompany if they are to get anything out of this game. Remember City are five points behind the London lads. Eight points and the defending champions may as well hand over the trophy. City have no wins in their last three matches and they need to turn their fortunes round. Asking for three points in this one might be asking for too much. I suppose it all depends if Chelsea want to take the risk and look for all three points. That could leave gaps at the back and as Bradford and Spurs proved Chelsea can be made look very ordinary at times. Chelsea v Man City betting
