Before the third round I tipped United to win the Cup so I am stuck with that prediction. This will be a mighty game against the Cup holders are sitting third in the Premiership. They were awful in the Champions League but have bounced back in the league. It just shows the gulf in class when you get the passports out and head into Europe. United are winning most of their games and yet they do tend to slip up just like they did with Swansea.

United are a strange beast this season. They have so many top class players and yet they flatter to deceive too often for my liking. Van Gaal arrived in a blaze of glory and yet he has done little to suggest he will live up to all the headlines.

True United fans must find it hard to watch their teams these days. A difficult this week at Old Trafford with the “alleged” spitting incident and talk of a rift between the manager and Ryan Giggs. He has denied it all but no smoke without fire etc.

An interesting game but I intend sticking with my prediction of a few months back. The FA cup is a competition United want and need to win and I think they might just edge this one.
