Newcastle v Arsenal
by @OurLogie
Some of you were lucky enough to see the Solar Eclipse this week and that just about sums up the English game at the moment in Europe.
Competitive and compelling at home but out of their depth beyond the shores of England. Not a single English side left in any European Competition. It’s the first time it’s happened in over 20 years and just shows how far off the pace the English sides are. A total eclipse is not what the doctor ordered. So here we go again with vital games at the top and the bottom.
It may not be the best in Europe but it still is very interesting.
Of all the English sides in Europe you make a case for Arsenal. Monaco were awful and with a little bit of luck Arsenal could have squeezed through. Having said that they left too much behind at the Emirates. Despite the European exit Arsenal could still win the cup and they could finish second or third in the league which of course means Champions League Football next season.
Newcastle are not a bad side and they are always hard to beat at home but I think Arsenal might just have enough.
Away win.
