Crystal Palace Fan Post: How high can the Eagles Soar?

It’s an International Week.. and I hate an International Week!

If Van Persie gets a Hat-Trick for the Dutch this week I will get sod all points and with this in mind I’m opening up the site for some new guest posts.

We will feature guest writer/bloggers from individual Premier League clubs to tell us how they thought their team did in the Transfer window, how they think their club will do this season and more importantly – who from their club should we be considering for our fantasy team??

Don’t forget you can still get involved in the FREE to play Fantasy Football mini-league. Click the logo below to join with the winner taking home £100.

We’ve already heard from fans from both North London clubs and Upton Park reflect on the summer activity and the season ahead. It’s now the turn of  Crystal Palace fan @DanCollins95 to give his thoughts on the Eagles season ahead and which of their new signings may fit into your FPL plans.

Crystal Palace Transfer Review

Crystal Palace have been one of the most active clubs during this summer’s transfer window; making no fewer than 16 acquisitions. However, despite the overhaul; I still see a season of disappointment for the Eagles. Bedding them all in will be a massive task and it’s a task I don’t think Holloway is up to. Let’s take a look at the pick of the new boys.

Marouane Chamakh

Fantasy Value: £5.0m

The signing of Marouane Chamakh will provide a much needed presence upfront that has been lacking since Glenn Murray suffered a long-term injury back in May. He wasn’t given a fair crack of the whip by Arsene Wenger and I truly believe that Selhurst Park is the best place for him to regain his prolific nature that made him an original hit at Arsenal.

Fantasy material? Of course he is, his goals to starts ratio is immense and he will be really fired up for the challenge ahead. Holloway’s emphasis on attacking will work wonders for the Moroccan and it should lead to him returning to his prolific best.

Jason Puncheon

Fantasy Value: £5.5m

I nearly fell off my chair when I heard we’d signed this bloke. A hard grafter that possesses creativity, flair and consistency; this is the perfect acquisition for a side looking to avoid the drop. Another outstanding attribute comes in his crossing and will provide brilliant support for Chamakh on the flank.

He’s definitely worth a punt in your fantasy team; he almost always seems to crop up with something and I think you’d be a fool not to consider this stunning talent.

Jose Campana

Fantasy Value: £5.0m

Spanish U21 captain Jose Campana was signed from Sevilla for an undisclosed fee and looks to be a real gem for the future. A talented young player who can play anywhere across the middle of the park, he is a phenomenal buy for a club of Palace’s stature. Campana does like to venture forward and can do so at his own free will, knowing that Jedinak and Dikgacoi have got him covered.

A definite consideration for your fantasy team; his distribution of the ball is unreal and should provide assists aplenty.

All three of these signings have the potential to shine for your respective fantasy teams this season and although Palace are going to really struggle this year, the abilities of these three individuals are simply too good to ignore.
