City will be looking to Manuel Pelegrini to pick the squad up after being dumped out of two major competitions in a week
It has been a week to forget for Manuel Pellegrini’s men as they need to dust themselves down from a horrific week and fully concentrate on their title challenge. City were dumped out of the Champions League Wednesday night having succumbed to a 2-1 defeat at the hands of Barcelona, a loss of 4-1 on aggregate. Bogey team Wigan inflicted a quarter final upset on the Citizens just three days prior which has ruled out their quadruple hope to just a possible double. Their opposition Hull, did manage to progress to the semi-finals, having overcome Sunderland at the KC, breaking a 84 year wait to reach that stage of the FA Cup.
