3 Points Predicted for Arsenal, Chelsea and… Man United?!

Logie’s Premier League Preview

After the goals, the wins and the non recognisable teams – we have the Premiership back in full flow this weekend and again there really are some cracking games on offer. In doing this over the years I had my worst week ever last week with only three out of ten. Then again checking out all the other pundits there were very few who got as many as five last time out. It just goes to show what a great and unpredictable league this is. Anyway here goes.

Liverpool v Everton

What a game to start the weekend. Neither side has been very good so far but who cares. This is a Merseyside derby and all the bad results and all the form go out the window. As I said neither side have been hitting the heights. In fact both have been struggling and losing games they should be winning. Liverpool are struggling up front. Sturridge has been a huge loss to Liverpool. Raheem Sterling is their biggest threat and that says it all. Everton have not been the team they were last season and that is a real worry for them. They will go to Anfield and that bitter local rivalry could be enough to get them a share of the spoils.

A draw I think.

Chelsea v Aston Villa

Villa have been very good this season but they won’t be good enough in this fixture. Chelsea have been the best side on view this season so far and they have threats and ability all over the park. As I said Villa have done well but I can’t see them getting out of this one.

Home win.

Crystal Palace v Leicester

A few weeks ago people would have laughed if you had said that this could be one of the games of the weekend. It has all the hallmarks of a cracking game. Both like to play football and both score goals. Last week Leicester trailed 3-1 at home to Man United before coming back to win 5-3. What a result for them. Under new boss Neil Warnock Palace have taken 5 points from three games. They are playing some great football and I can see goals in this one.

The smart money could be a home win but I’m tipping a draw. A game to watch if you ask me.

 Hull v Man City

Steve Bruce says his side have been unlucky so far. They have had an ok start but go into this game with City  with no wins in four games and I think that run is about to continue. Hull will be all right this season but for me City are just too good in all departments and whilst Hull will battle all the way I think that City will have too much. Ewell let’s put it another way. If City are to be close to retaining their title they need to winning games like these.

Away win.

BMCL OFFER

Man United v West Ham

According to United boss Louis Van Gaal they are down to their last central defender. I have news for him . He has no central defenders. United spent big up front but they are so poor at the back it beggars belief. 3-1 up at Leicester they threw in the towel conceding five and losing. What an awful effort from them. Lots of top players in attack but they concede too many goals. West Ham are doing all right. They have begun to attack teams and it has proven to be working for them. Will they attack in this one? Who knows, United are poor at the back so they should. United will score more all the same.

Home win.

Southampton v QPR

Southampton are the team in great form in the Premiership. They also showed that mid-week when they put Arsenal away in the League cup. Ronald Koeman has done so well after so much disruption. QPR did fight back for a draw with Stoke but they have to be at the height of their powers to win this or even get a draw.. I can’t see QPR getting anything here.

Home Win.

Sunderland v Swansea

This is one of those games which is very hard to predict. Swansea have made a great start to the season and Sunderland are battling for everything as usual. Sunderland need points and they need them at home. They have yet to win a league match this season. Swansea are very good but the greater need of the home side might just swing in it in their favour.

Home win.

Arsenal v Spurs

A London derby that always produces something special. Something special is what Spurs need at this stage. I tipped them last week as apart of my treble but they lost at home to West Brom. Yes lost at home to West Brom. They did beat Forest mid week in the League Cup but even then they looked wide open. Arsenal lost in the League Cup and they looked quite poor against Southampton. Alexis Sanchez must be wondering why he left Barcelona for this. Despite that I still fancy the Arsenal to pick up all three points in this one. They have better players than Spurs and should win.

Home win.

West Brom v Burnley

I don’t like West Brom and yet with two wins in a row they are making me eat my words. And yet I am still not convinced.
New boss Alan Irvine has done better than most have expected. Burnley defend well but they still find it hard to score goals. Burnley will fight all the way as always and I think they will make life very difficult for the home side.

West Brom will hope to win again but I’m going for a draw in this one.

Stoke v Newcastle

The Monday night offering and not a game to get the TV executives nor indeed the fans buzzing I feel. Alan Pardew is just under so much pressure at present. Stoke should have won last week at QPR and they will be hoping for a reaction to that. Newcastle did well to get a draw with Hull but they are a team who are struggling. I think Newcastle are in big trouble and I can see Stoke making life very difficult for them.

Home win.
