DEFENDER: DAVID DE GEA, MANCHESTER UNITED
(Ed. Explain yourself..!)
Ok…Ok… so he’s not a defender and therefore I might have failed in record early time for this blog but David De Gea is better than the 4 men in front of him so he counts in my book. Now that the transfer palava is over, what you are left with is arguably thebest keeper in the league for much cheaper than he probably should be. His potential for bonus points from standout saves is as prevalent as ever so I say stick him in.
MIDFIELDER: DIMITRI PAYET, WEST HAM
Sometimes you want to be clever and find hidden gems, but in my case that has been my downfall for most of the season. Looking at the fixtures, then there’s no reason that West Ham shouldn’t get themselves a win against Norwich and the man at the helm against City, was the impressive Dimitri Payet. If you haven’t seen him play yet then you’re missing out, plus it’s good to see who Spurs or Liverpool will inevitably try and sign come the Summer.
FORWARD: ANTHONY MARTIAL, MANCHESTER UNITED
At the risk of making this a Manchester United love in, I am going to plump for Mr Martial. A couple of weeks ago I put him in my side as an outside pick and it has paid dividends. He is now 18% picked and I think it is a train we all need to hop on. They really do have little else in terms of goal threats and I think he will get the minutes he needs. Couple that with the fact that Sunderland are one of the worst Premiership sides I can remember in recent times and I think he could even bag himself a hat trick.
OUTSIDER: SADIO MANE, SOUTHAMPTON
I am torn here between two and although Sakho at West Ham is tempting, i will plump for Mane at Southampton. They have a tricky tie against an erratic Swansea but the fact that such a known player is only 4% picked is a surprise for me. He does have the tendency to disappear sometimes but he also has goals and assists in his locker.
CAPTAIN: EDEN HAZARD, CHELSEA
It’s time isn’t it? We can finally use Chelsea players as captain, right? Truthfully, who knows but they finally got their win against Arsenal and most people are predicting the floodgates to open. I am not so sure about that but I am sure that they have been gifted the best possible match up for their road to recovery. Newcastle were the team to end their unbeaten run last season but this year they are possibly the second worst Premiership side I can remember and I think it is finally time to put Hazard as captain (or Pedro if you chose him) and if he fails then throw him away in a dark room with Adrian Mutu, Shevchenko, Jiri Jarosik and all the others.
