We all know the merits and capabilities of the big money strikers like Aguero but in order to accommodate him you’ll have to balance the books somewhere!

Possible Movers and Shakers:

Christian Benteke (£7.5m), Wilfried Bony (£7.5m) and Saido Berahino (£6.5m) have all been linked with moves away from their clubs. All three of these players are proven goal scorers in the Premier League and a move away from their respective clubs would enhance their Fantasy prospects.

Liverpool bought Benteke for £32.5m after he scored 42 league goals for Aston Villa in 7,328 minutes (0.52 goals per 90). Since joining Liverpool Benteke has scored 9 league goals in 1,518 minutes (0.53 goals per 90). He could be a real coup in our Fantasy Football teams if one of the many clubs who are reported to be interested in him managed to sign him.

Wilfried Bony has only scored 6 goals in the Premier League for Manchester City and the club may be moving him on. The forward had a dazzling Swansea City career averaging 0.62 league goals per 90 in his year-and-a-half stint. Numerous clubs have been linked with the Ivorian and he may even be returning to his old stomping ground, Swansea City.

West Bromwich Albion’s striker, Saido Berahino, has been trying to force a move away from the club for quite some time now. The 22 year old had a great 14/15 season scoring 14 goals, but his next season wasn’t so great, only notching 4 league goals in a season where his heart wasn’t at the club. A move away from West Brom could put the Englishman’s career back on track.

New-ish Players:

These two players aren’t new to the league nor are they new to their clubs, but we haven’t seen a lot of Callum Wilson (£6.5m) or Charlie Austin (£6.5m) at their respective clubs in the Premier League.

Callum Wilson made a good start in his debut season in the Premier League after netting 5 goals in 7 games – which included a hat-trick against West Ham. He then ruptured his cruciate ligament and missed 30 games in total for Bournemouth. The south coast club have a tough start to the 16/17 season, hosting Manchester United and then travelling to West Ham and Crystal Palace, so gambling on the forward wouldn’t be a good recommendation, but he’s definitely one to monitor.

Southampton’s Charlie Austin hardly featured for the club last season, after they purchased him from QPR in January. This was due to Austin suffering from a couple of injuries and he ended up playing only 209 minutes for his new team. In the previous season, Austin was playing in the Premier League for QPR, where he went on to score 18 goals and assist 8. Southampton have a mixed set of starting fixtures – they entertain Watford, Sunderland and Swansea, but they also travel to Manchester United and Arsenal.

Promoted Strikers:

Andre Gray (£6.5m) and Ávaro Negredo (£6.5m) are the two strikers from the promoted teams to watch out for this season.

A lot of Fantasy Managers are interested in the Burnley forward and with 3 home games in his first 4, Andre Gray could prove to be a shrewd signing in the Fantasy Premier League game. The ex-Brentford player was the Championship’s top goal scorer last season with 25 goals and he’s already bagged 8 goals in pre-season, scoring in every one of Burnley’s five friendlies.

Álvaro Negredo has previously won the Premier League with Manchester City but now he’s playing for the newly promoted Middlesbrough. Negredo has returned to the Premier League from Valencia who had a torrid season last year. Looking at his stats from last season – 5 goals in 25 La Liga appearances – then it doesn’t look good at all. But if you take his minutes played (1,147) into context, then it becomes a bit different. The Spanish striker actually averaged 0.39 goals per 90 minutes, which isn’t bad at all for a player of his price. Negredo was also the joint top scorer in the Copa del Rey with 5 goals.
