10 bargains in Premier League Fantasy Football – Guest Post
The chances are you are not able to afford all the elite players out there, spending upwards of half of your budget on only a couple players means there will be a lack of budget elsewhere in your team. But you don’t always have to spend tons of money to get a good return on your investment.
This happens in real life too. You look at someone like Jadon Sancho, he took the chance of going abroad to get more game time and now he’s possibly up there with the top players, wingers, in the world, Shaun Wright-Phillips shared in an exclusive interview. Man City sold the English talent to Borussia Dortmund for £7.05m and his value is now rated at £90.00m. Quite the return on investment indeed!
Let’s have a look at 10 bargains in Premier League fantasy football!
Forwards
Mason Greenwood – Man United
The 18-year old is cheap but also quite the risk. Greenwood did score 10 goals in 24 matches for Man United, but only 3 out of 15 were netted in the Premier League. Could he be the player who eventually can replace now Inter Milan player Romelu Lukaku as the new Man United number 9?
Moises Kean – Everton
The Italian, who became the youngest to score for the Italian national team in 2019, was one of the most exciting arrivals of the summer. He did not play much for Juventus last season, but his goals per minute ratio were off the chart. Can we expect a lot of goals in the premier league too? Till now, Kean has been quite the disappointment at Everton. In 14 Premier League appearances, the Italian hasn’t scored a single goal yet. Can he do
better in 2020?
Wingers
Daniel James – Manchester United
Left-winger Daniel James has already established his place in the Man United team since moving from Swansea during the summer transfer window. The Wales international is only 22 years old but has shone in several games this season. James has scored 3 goals and has 5 assists on his name in 18 Premier League appearances.
Bernardo Silva
Portugal international Bernardo Silva appears to have found his role at Manchester City after figuring more prominently in his second season with the club. With doubts around the future of Leroy Sane, Silva seems like the best option for the right-wing position. Silva scored 5 goals in 16 Premier League appearances and gave 4 assists.
Midfielders
Kevin de Bruyne – Manchester City
Of course, the Belgian international is well-known by anyone remotely following football. The 28-year old should be more expensive but isn’t because of his injury derailing last season. When fit, he is the first name down on Pep Guardiola’s team each week offering both goals and assists. KDB is on fire this season, he scored 6 goals and gave an astonishing 11 assists in 17 Premier League appearances.
James Maddison – Leicester City
Leicester City has been performing extremely well this season under Brendan Rodgers and the team is currently in second place. One of the players thriving under the Northern-Irishnan is James Maddison. The attacking midfielder is a great choice for your fantasy football team given his status as a set-piece taker. Maddison has already scored 5 Premier League goals and gave 3 assists this season.
Defenders
Jonny Evans – Leicester City
The Foxes have been great attacking but also have a sound defence, possibly the best in the Premier League. Tower of strength at the back? Jonny Evans, formerly a player of Manchester United. The Northern Irishman has both class and composure, Man United must be regretting letting the now 31-year old go in 2015.
Trent Alexander-Arnold – Liverpool
One of the best full-backs in the world. Trent Alexander-Arnold has played 18 out of 18 games in the Premier League this season. Though Liverpool are struggling to keep clean sheets this season, the 21-year old is a great choice for your right-back position. Alexander-Arnold has also scored 2 goals and gave 8 assists in the Premier League. Not bad at all for a defender!
Goalkeepers
Mathew Ryan – Brighton & Hove Albion
Perhaps a surprising choice but the Brighton stopper regularly picks up points with his consistent displays. With some easier fixtures for Brighton &Hove Albion after the New Year, he might be an excellent choice for the month of January.
Ederson – Man City
It’s probably not that surprising that Ederson is recommended in this list, given that Ederson has only conceded 17 goals in 17 Premier League appearances this season. Reigning champions Manchester City have underperformed in the latter half of 2019 but the fans are expecting a better second half of the season in 2020.
