It’s all to play for in the Premier League this weekend. Chelsea can clinch the title which they really won a few weeks ago.
They have almost stumbled to the finish line but they have been the best side in the league. The race to the top has been a little boring but not the race at the bottom. So much to play. I can feel the nerves from here. Last week the results were crazy and I think we can expect more of the same this time out. So here goes.

Leicester v Newcastle
Leicester lost 3-1 at home to Chelsea mid week and yet I was still impressed by their efforts and their style of play. Manager Nigel Pearson has been centre stage all the same fending row after row with the media and you wonder just what effect that might have on his team. It certainly means that his players have been out of the headlights. Pearson got himself involved in different spats with journalists. He apologised for one before he took something of a dressing down from BBC journalist Pat Murphy. What that achieved for either I’m not so sure.
Anyway his side did take the lead against Chelsea and I don’t think their confidence will have been affected. Before that defeat to Chelsea Leicester had won four in a row and they can survive with two more wins I think.
Newcastle are on a pretty awful run and a run that should see interim manager John Carver lose his job at the season no matter what happens. They have lost seven in a row. They are on 35 points and Leicester are on 31. Newcastle have failed to even score in their last four away.
It’s their worst run in 38 years. They lost ten in arrow that time. This week manager John Carver has been having tea with disgruntled fans when perhaps he should be having meetings with his players I feel.
History is on their side all the same. They are unbeaten in their last nine against Leicester and yet Leicester’s run which has seen them take 12 points from fifteen has only been bettered by Arsenal, Chelsea and Everton.
I think the dream lives on for Leicester.
Home win.

Aston Villa v Everton
Now this is a game and a half and all Aston Villa fans will be having sleepless nights about this one. A few weeks back you would have tipped Villa to win this one but now? Everton have won five out of the last six. The win last week against Man United will have boosted their confidence no end. They are no so convincing away from home but they are beginning to play some good football. They are currently tenth in the Premiership and they will want to stay there.
Villa are still in trouble. On 32 points and the race to avoid relegation is there for all to see.
This is going to be so tight.

Liverpool v QPR
What poor season it’s been for Liverpool. Brendan Rodgers is under pressure after a season of failure. Beaten in the Cup semi final and no chance of Champions League football and that after spending over £100,00.
Not great to say the least.
25 years since their last title win and counting for a club which was always one of the best. Liverpool have signed 23 players under Rodgers and few have achieved anything. His top four strikers just don’t score enough goals and that is just one of the problems. Beaten by Hull mid week it was a display with so little heart and commitment.
QPR have only had one defeat in their last but crucially only one win. They blew their chances I feel last week against West Ham. The missed penalty was vital.
Liverpool have nothing to play for but pride. Surely that will be enough to get them over this hurdle.
Home win.

Sunderland v Southampton
What a game for the home side. Struggling for most of the season they face Arsenal and Chelsea in their last two games and this is a match they simply have to get something from.
Southampton haven’t been great in recent weeks. The long season has taken it’s toll and yet they have had a great year in the Premiership.
Steve Davis has been brilliant for the Saints and should be winning the Northern Ireland Personality from the Football Writers if you ask me.
Sunderland will have to have a go in this one but that will leave space for Southampton.
A Cup final in every way for the home side they have to be content with a point.

Swansea v Stoke
Both sides have had a decent season. They are now established Premiership clubs and it should stay that way for sometime to come. Stoke have no chance of winning the title but boss Mark Hughes sets them a target for a record points tally. Smart thinking if you ask me. They are just four short. Swansea are very solid.
They face a Stoke side who are unbeaten in their last three and they will want that to continue.

West Ham v Burnley
Like Leicester Burnley have had chances in the past few weeks but sadly they have failed to take them. Burnley are a great battling outfit but you need goals to win matches and the goals have dried up for the Turf Moor outfit. Last week I feel finished them off and I think they have now blown it and are heading back down to the Championship.
West Ham have had a poor enough season. The chances are they will have a new manager at the start of the new season.
Not much luck for Sam Allardyce with injuries but the team are just not playing well under him.
West Ham of course will stay in the Premiership but without Sam.
Home win.

Man United v West Brom
Every Manchester United fan will be hoping the sides responds after the dismal display and defeat at Everton last week.. 3-0. What a terrible performance. There is talk that United want to sign Gareth Bale for around £100, 000 million. Interesting.
United are not the team they were and yet they are nailed on for Champions League next season. They have achieved what they hoped to achieve under Van Gaal. European football next season. They would have loved to have won the Cup but it wasn’t to be.
West Brom are safe and yet more herograms for Tony Pulis. He is something of a wizard in saving teams from relegation.
United to bounce back.
Home win.

Chelsea v Crystal Palace
The fans keep saying that Chelsea are boring. I don’t like their manager but they are Champions elect and will be deserving of the title. They are the best side in the Premiership. People say they have been struggling but the results say differently. Four wins in April and one draw shows great consistency.
Chelsea are the bet team compared to any of the rest and they can and will clinch the title here at home to Crystal Palace. They let me down for the past two weeks so my love affair with them is over.
Chelsea to win and take the title.
Home win.

Spurs v Man City
Spurs are a mirror image of the likes of Southampton and Liverpool. Did well for long periods and then slipped back. The same could be said about Manchester City. They have won their last two and will be in the Champions League next season but will that be good enough for the manager to keep his job??? Pellegrini is under pressure. Remember this is a side who have talked in the past about winning the competition. A poor season for City no matter what way you look at it.
Should be a decent game all the same and City will want to keep on winning until the end of the season. I think they will do that here.
Away win.

Hull v Arsenal
Two wins against Crystal Palace and Liverpool has eased the pressure on Hull but they still a few points to be really safe. What a fixture this is. Arsenal have really begun to play some great football in recent weeks and they are one of the form sides in the Premiership.
Hull will battle for everything and I think this will be another very close affair.
The smart money would be on an Arsenal win but I think Steve Bruce will have his side up for this one and I think it could finish even.
Draw.
