Premier League Match Previews
Previews by @OurLogie and @Bet_McLean
The Premier League this weekend is all about relegation.
Yes the top four finish is very interesting for several clubs and their fans but all the headlines will be all about the big losers in the Premiership. QPR and Burnley can both be relegated this weekend so there is so much at stake.

Everton v Sunderland
Last week Sunderland beat Southampton and that has given them huge hope. Last week they battled for everything in the game and I think we can expect something similar in this one. Sunderland will work for everything but they are away to an Everton side who have shown great form in recent weeks.
Everton have taken 16 points from their last 21 and unbeaten in their last eleven games so to win here would be something special. I can’t see that happening all the same. Everton have won 5 out of their last seven against Sunderland who go into this game after winning two of their last four fixtures.
Sunderland have only one game left at home and they travel to Arsenal and Chelsea. This is a Cup final but a Cup final they won’t win.
Home win.

Aston Villa v West Ham
Like so many others at the wrong end of the table Aston Villa are beginning to show really good form. Beating Everton last week was a massive result for Tim Sherwood and his team The simple reason is that they are now scoring goals. Christian Benteke is typical of this Villa side who are now scoring and getting points.
Three points would be vital in this one and I think they will get them against a West Ham side who have thrown in the towel and have nothing to play for.
Home win.

Hull v Burnley
What a game with so much at stake. Defeat here for Burnley and they are gone. Hull are no great shakes but they have been fighting. The problem for Burnley at the end of the season is the same one that was there from the start. Burnley don’t score enough goals. Simple. It has cost them their place in the Premiership.
Burnley have lost their last four and all by 1-0.
This will be a real battle but Hull just might edge it. It will be very close. Not one to put too much money on I would wager.
Home win.

Leicester v Southampton
The difficult fixtures just keep coming and predicting correct results at this stage of the season is something of a nightmare.
Leicester boss Nigel Pearson has been selected as the Manager of the Month and quite right too. They have won five out of their last six matches and if they can continue to produce this form they can escape. This is a vital game for them. Southampton appear to have gone off the boil and they too are not scoring enough goals.
This game means so much for Leicester and I think they can get another crucial three points. The dream lives on.
Home win.

Newcastle v West Brom
The Newcastle players got together this week and told the fans they would give everything to the cause. What took them so long? Newcastle have been in freefall for several weeks now. They have lost eight in a row and their managers has been saying that players have been trying to get reds cards on purpose.
Serious issues for this Newcastle outfit. John Carver will stay for the last few games but that will be it He will be gone and so many of his players should also be shown the door.
West Brom won at United last week and that means that they are safe under Tony Pulis.
I see both taking a point in this one.

Stoke v Spurs
Stoke are just so hard to beat at home and I don’t think that Spurs are good enough to take this away win. Stoke are hoping to get to 50 points for the first time in their history and I think they will take all three in this clash.
Home win.

Crystal Palace v Man United
Manchester United have lost their last three and haven’t scored a goal and yet some United fans are saying it’s been a good season. I remain unconvinced. United are far from being a great side. Crystal Palace have also lost their way after a superb run under Alan Pardew. They have lost their way in recent weeks all the same. The chances are they will open up and try and win this game and that could give United enough chances.
I think United can win this but it’s a hesitant vote.
They still need points to ensure a top four place. I think they will make it and it could be with three points here.
Away win.

Manchester City v QPR
QPR will be relegated if they lose this game and that will happen. City have won their last three games but they are hardly inspirational. They will be too good for a poor QPR side who really lost their way mid season when they sacked Harry Rednapp.
They promised so much and deleivered so little. Relegation beckons.
Home win.

Chelsea v Liverpool
Party time at Stamford Bridge. They will have been celebrating in style no doubt but I don’t believe that they will have given up at this stage. I feel that Jose Mourinho will want to continue on his winning ways. It’s all about him remember.
Liverpool are typical of the standard in the Premiership. Some people suggest that they like United are a decent side. Put them against the likes of Barcelona or Bayern or Real and you will get the real answer. Liverpool are a poor enough team.
Chelsea have limped along in recent weeks and perhaps it showed just how dominant they were throughout the season. I think they will want to put Liverpool in their place and I think they will take all three points.
Home win.

Arsenal v Swansea
After a stuttering campaign Arsenal are almost the form team of the Premiership. They entertain a Swansea side who have had a great season. Gary Monk and his side deserve so much praise. Sanchez was a pivotal signing for Arsenal and he has repaid their faith in him in spades. He has been the difference for Arsenal throughout the campaign.
Swansea will be delighted with what they have done but Arsenal will just want to keep on winning. They are scoring goals and they are a team to watch in the future despite all the prophets of doom and gloom.
Arsenal will win this game to keep up their good form.
Home win.
