#FPL Gameweek 4: Preview

DEFENDER: Bacary Sagna, Manchester City
We are only in GW4 and already repeating suggestions, but for good reason. Bacary Sagna proved a good recommendation next week and jumped to 4.0% picked once people realised he isn’t a new player, he just had a haircut. A boring 0-0 for Man United racked up the points for those of you that have Shaw and Darmian but surprisingly Liverpool are still 3 games in without conceding a goal. With West Ham at home, they have a genuine chance to make that 4 from 4 without any goals against and Liverpool defenders are jumping up in value by the day. JOE GOMEZ is still the cheapest of that back 4 and at 4.7m it won’t be long until he costs 5m so bet to get him in now. When I tipped him in GW1 he was under 2%, he now stands at 17% and that still represents great value.
MIDFIELDER: Pedro, Chelsea
The first question to anyone with Riyad Mahrez is “When will Mahrez stop scoring?”. The first questions to anyone without Riyad Mahrez is “WHEN WILL MAHREZ STOP SCORING?!?!”
Surely, at some point, he stops getting the space to score this amount of goals but then we said that about Harry Kane. Bournemouth, away from home, won’t scare him in the slightest and he will be confident he can add to that tally. It’s hard not to go for the exciting new shiny choice though and pick PEDRO. A goal and an assist in his 1st game had Man United fans frantically rewriting history and they might be the only ones not putting him in for a home game against Crystal Palace.
FORWARD: Sergio Aguero, Manchester City
Manchester City have another seemingly easy game at home against new boys Watford and Sergio Aguero is capable of scoring at will against any defence and goalkeeper in the World, let alone Haurelho Gomes. A slightly cheaper option is the dashingly handsome PELLE at Southamption. They are in for a topsy turvy season it seems, with the addition of European football but, Everton aside, they always look like scoring at home and he might ust get his beautiful head on a goal or two.
OUTSIDER: Diouf, Stoke
In the spirit of picking strikers I have gone for Stoke’s sometimes goal shy forward MAME BIRAM DIOUF. He has admitted himself that he didn’t score enough goals last season but now has 2 in 3 and a very winnable game at home against West Brom. If he can get the service from the likes of Charlie Adam then he is definitely worth a goal. In fact his name is actually a direct anagram of FEED ME MORE and so long as no one ever checks that, it will forever be true in our hearts.
CAPTAIN: Christian Benteke, Liverpool
At 40% picked, Christian Benteke is in people’s squads for a reasons and I would argue that home games are that very reason. We know he can score goals in the Premier league and with Firmino beginning to start games, it all spells more opportunities for big CB and that should mean goals, or else we will see that percentage go from Russian vodka to Alcopop within weeks.
