Defender: Matthew Cash, Aston Villa

With just a few weeks left of the season, I’m going to try and help you in your mini-leagues to either gain ground or maintain your lead. This means that some tips may appear to be a bit risky, but it’s now or never. Time to Cash in your chips. Time to Matty Cash in your chips.

Cash has just returned from injury in GW29 following a spell of five weeks in the treatment room. He has an impressive 11 clean sheets already banked, with a handy couple of assists to supplement an impressive season.

Bizarrely then, he is now owned by less than 1% of players, making him a real differential option. He faces a Fulham side who have failed to score more than once in seven consecutive games, blanking on three of those occasions. If he keeps a clean sheet and chips in an attacking return, you’ll be out of the red and into the black.

Matty Cash – The man (to get you) in black.

Midfielder: Raphael Dias Bellolli a.k.a. Raphinha, Leeds United

My gut tells me that Leeds United assets are an absolute must have for GW30 as they face manager-less, rudderless and hopeless Sheffield United on Saturday afternoon.

Of the most popular Leeds FPL assets, Raphinha is for me the one with the most upside for those looking to finish the season strong. He’s owned by less than 17% of players despite having 12 attacking returns (6 goals and 6 assists) in just 19 full starts.

The Blades cut Chris Wilder a few weeks ago and promptly conceded five goals to Leicester City. We know this Leeds United side can be a swashbuckling attacking outfit on their day so if the stars align then a double-digit haul for Raphinha is possible.

Forward: Harry Kane, Tottenham Hotspur

While the previous picks are all about gaining on your opponents, this pick is about ensuring you don’t lose ground.

Spurs face a frankly terrible Newcastle United side this week and Harry Kane has continued banging in the goals during the international break. With THIRTY attacking returns already this season including SIX double-digit hauls, you’re taking a huge risk in gambling that he doesn’t bang Bruce badly. Now there’s a mental image you’ll struggle to get out of your head.

Captain: Bruno Miguel Borges Fernandes, Manchester United

As with the Kane tip, this is also a damage limitation exercise as Bruno tries to add to his 28 attacking returns and ELEVEN double-digit hauls at home to Brighton. While Brighton had a run of clean sheets between GW’s 19 and 24 (5/6), they have since had one clean sheet in the last five which came against Newcastle United, so, y’know…

Of course, we also can’t forget the reverse fixture this season which resulted in Bruno grabbing goals, points and bonus points about half an hour after the referee blew the final whistle. Sometimes you just have a club you enjoy playing, and Bruno could well be the only person on Earth who enjoys Seagulls. He has faced them twice, scoring twice against them last season while grabbing a goal and assist against them earlier this season.

Outsider: Jonathan Castro Otto, Wolverhampton Wanderers

Who fancies a 0.0% point-scoring tip for Easter, eh? Well you’re in luck my friends, as I have found one.

Wolves have recently welcomed back Jonny from a long-term injury. He was a crucial component of their success last season and he looks to be getting back to that form once more. In his six starts since returning he has one clean sheet, but he played 59 minutes of another clean sheet game, so I’m counting that as a second clean sheet, morally.

He faces West Ham this weekend who are starting to realise where they are in the Premier League and are freaking out accordingly.

My motto? I pick Otto, when he hauls, I’m going to get blotto.
