GW12 FPL REVIEW FROM @FANTASYGAFFER Well, that was unexpected. Roberto Soldado hit a game-winner for Spurs, Liverpool kept the clean sheet and Sergio Aguero assisted on two of the Citizen’s three goals and still missed out on the bonus (Clichy (3), Yaya Touré (2), Hart). The League pauses Monday to reset and kicks-off again for […]
Manchester United’s Wayne Rooney And The 5 #FPL Players You MUST Pick This Week
Gameweek 14
DEFENDER: Laurent Koscielny (£5.9m) – Home v Southampton
It is no coincidence that the return of Laurent Koscielny to the Arsenal side resulted in a clean sheet at West Brom at the weekend, and the Frenchman looks set to continue against a Southampton team no doubt still smarting from their loss to Manchester City.
Playing alongside Per Mertesacker, Koscielny makes Arsenal a lot tougher to score against, and the Saints could find that out on Wednesday.
MIDFIELDER: Mile Jedinak (£5.2m) – Home v Aston Villa
Set-pieces are crucial to this Crystal Palace side, and no-one benefits from them more than their skipper Mile Jedinak.
The Australian has scored five goals already this season, and against an Aston Villa side who are still failing to convince pretty much anyone then he’ll be looking to test Brad Guzan from a few free-kicks, or many even a penalty.
FORWARD: Wilfried Bony (£8.3m) – Home v QPR
All of Wilfried Bony’s six league goals this season have come in his last seven appearances, with another strike in the weekend draw with Crystal Palace proving that he’s a man in form ahead of the visit of QPR.
Having dropped points in that game, Garry Monk will be desperate to see his side earn a victory against Harry Redknapp’s relegation battlers, who could just provide Bony with plenty of chances to extend his recent good run.
THE OUTSIDER: Danny Ings (£5.7m) – Home v Newcastle
We’re fairly certain this will be the first Burnley player we’ve recommended all season, but with four goals in his last five games then Danny Ings is certainly worthy of consideration.
There are signs of life at the Clarets following seven points from their last three games, and at home to Newcastle the forward will be desperate to keep on improving.
THE CAPTAIN: Wayne Rooney (£10.3m) – Home v Stoke
With Diego Costa suspended we’re well aware that the ‘safe’ choice as your captain will be Sergio Aguero, but Manchester City’s recent record at Sunderland is desperately poor, and the Mackems showed against Chelsea that they can be a match for the top sides.
It might pay, then, to trust an in-form Wayne Rooney, who has five in his last four for club and country and three in his last two Old Trafford fixtures against Stoke. Feeling brave?

Manchester United’s Angel Di Maria And The 5 #FPL Players You Must Pick This Week
Gameweek 13
DEFENCE: Cesar Azpilicueta (£6.0m) – Away v Sunderland
We’ve highlighted him before, but Cesar Azpilicueta really is one of the most consistent defenders in the game even if he doesn’t get the headlines – or the FPL ownership – to show for it.
Lacking the goal threat of the rest of his teammates he does at least make up for that with raiding runs from left-back, and more assists do seem to be on the way.
MIDFIELD: Angel Di Maria (£10.0m) – Home v Hull
That noise you can hear is Manchester United slowly clicking into gear, and although things might remain at mess at the back for them they have at least got outright quality going forward in Angel Di Maria.
Assists in his last two games take his tally to six for the season, and he’ll be looking to add to his three goals when Hull come calling to Old Trafford.
FORWARD: Harry Kane (£4.9m) – Home v Everton
He could be making appearance in ‘The Outsider’ section, but at his price you really can’t ignore Tottenham’s Harry Kane ahead of a home meeting with Everton.
The forward has forced his way to the front and centre of Mauricio Pochettino’s plans, perhaps despite the manager’s best wishes, and after goals against Aston Villa and Hull he could be worth a gamble for one week only.
THE OUTSIDER: Jefferson Montero (£5.7m) – Home v Crystal Palace
Speaking of gambles… It’s a curveball, I’ll admit, but that is what the outsider pick is all about.
Swansea’s Jefferson Montero has looked lively as he started all of his side’s last four games, during which he’s provided two assists. He’s got Palace and QPR at home in his next two fixtures, and with just 0.3% ownership he could cause quite a bit of damage in your mini-leagues.
THE CAPTAIN: Diego Costa (£11.1m) – Away v Sunderland
You know the drill by now.
Rooney and Gayle on the scoresheet at Arsenal and Liverpool (Again)
Nov 25
GW12 FPL REVIEW FROM @FANTASYGAFFER It was a poor week for fantasy premier league managers, with an average score of 35 points heading into Monday’s clash between the Villains and the Saints. A number of high-profile players missed out (including Nacir Chadli) while one notable forward made his comeback. While we say ‘oh, you […]
