Outsider – Gerard Deulofeu, Watford
West Ham, Everton, West Brom are the next three for Gerry D and Watford. Conveniently rated a midfielder, Deulofeu is a £6.0m option to replace the crocked Wilf Zaha. 1.5% selected, Deulofeu is a massive differential who is all but guaranteed starting minutes in the Hornets XI. A goal and an assist in just his second match sparked Watford in their 4-1 rout of Chelsea. There isn’t much to say except that his talent has always been there – we’ve seen brilliant flashes – but with 12 matches left this season we could well see one of the great run-ins in recent FPL memory. Think Josh King, but not English.
Draft – Ryan Shawcross, Stoke
Deulofeu is a must-add in Togga’s draft format at the moment. He was one of the most touted ‘Plan B’ options for those who missed on Aubameyang and Walcott. A nice feature on the Togga app lets you see scoring per match for the season, but also for the last three weeks (L3W). Two players have less than 65% ownership and more than 16pts average L3W – Shawcross (63%) and James Ward-Prowse (51%). JW-P would make the cut but playing time concerns and a difficult match with Liverpool, make the Stoke defender the better option. Without a goal or an assist since GW13, Shawcross has been earning points the old fashion way – through Aerial Duels Won and Clearances. He has 43 of the former and 29 of the later over the last three weeks and added clean sheets against Huddersfield and Watford. A home match with Brighton is simply too good to miss and he is a very streamable option in leagues as small as 6 teams.
